Fit for a Queen

Breakfast in Bed has become a tradition for Dalaney.

She decided to let her little sister join in.

The table is set.

Another Funny Fall

It Has Only Just Begun

Laney's first day of Preschool!  I have been anticipating this day with hesitancy. She is my first born, I am a first born.  She is a rule follower, I am a rule follower.  We have similar personalities.
I did not realize till later that Dalaney thought Preschool meant being gone all day till she talked to Grandma Boeckel.  Grandma had said, "It is only for a couple hours, then you get to go back home!"  Dalaney was then excited to start the day.

At this Preschool they have a wonderful drop off service where the teachers are waiting outside and take your kids in right from your car!!!!  I had decided we would be walking in instead to maybe soften the apprehension of not only Dalaney but maybe mom too.  Chris acted all tough like it I was being a "helicopter" mom but I could totally tell he was all for it.  So the whole family (Chris, Greta, and I) walked in, took pictures, asked Laney for a bunch of kisses, and made sure she had a friend to sit by.  When I started to walk away I felt the tears in my eyes but blinked them away.  And this is just PRESCHOOL!!!
Yes, I am that mom and yes I am going to embrace it!

Vacation to Lake Geneva.....and no not for Jr. High Camp!

Staying at the Minister's Cabin was truly a blessing!

Biking, park playing, and swimming were all daily activities.

Laney's first time down the waterslide all by herself.
Greta sitting pretty in the water.

You would think feeding the ducks would be fun and relaxing....not for me.  I was definitely about to have an anxiety attack for how close they were getting to us and my feet.  Then Greta proceeds to grab a duckling in her hands pretty much choking it to death till we get it out of her claws. Poor duck.

A cute little house at the duck pond!

And.... game of Candyland and some popcorn to wrap up the evening.
